ROV 2012 - 2013

Hey guys!

ROV has now officially started and we have our new team roster for this year! With only 5 returning members out of a team of 13. Things will be tricky to get going, however I am confident we will be able to handle this well.

One of the most important lesson we learnt last year was engineering. We simply just didn't have enough time to create a well engineered piece due to procrastination. Which is why one of the first actions that I have done in my time of co presidency is creating a brand new department separate from mechanical, electrical, and support. This new department will be called R&D or Research and Development. Essentially the first semester will be focused on creating some projects that will overall improve our engineering. This will also give us the time and motivation to hone our skills and create a well built ROV in the second semester. Hopefully things go well.

Project Ideas we have now are:
- variable buoyancy
- camera buoy system
- brand new frame
- new ways of waterproofing
- new ways of construction

With the end of this semester looming ahead, roughly a month and a half away, we shall work diligently to complete our project!
